Race City Gets Green Flag from City Hall Print E-mail
Calgary, AB (February 9, 2010) - Four months after City Hall passed a motion directing city administrators to negotiate an extension to the current lease on the motorsport park, agreement has apparently been reached between to the two parties and during Monday's Council meeting City Hall gave Race City the green flag for two more seasons.

Race City survives another season
Green Flag for another two seasons at Race City
A vote to accept the administrator's recommendation passed unanimously. The new lease will give Race City an agreement based on the original lease but having a fixed term of 2011 without the option to renew.

In a sudden about face, Mayor Bronconnier apparently voted yes on the motion perhaps signalling, if nothing else, a new found awareness of the issue  by Mayor as the citizens of Calgary go to polls in October to elect a mayor.

Once again, everyone here at JustTurnleft.ca would like to recognize the efforts of the entire motorsports community during months, sincerely thank Rick Francescone of the Motorsport Council of Calgary for his tireless campaign to bring awareness to the issues and lastly to Alderman Rick McIvor, thank you for championing the cause on our behalf.
