The resurgent Miller & Phelps Racing Team and the #69 A-1 Auto Body Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Barry Bischoff capped their NEWALTA Late Model Challenge Series championship season with another award, the 2007 Border Challenge champion.

In the four designated Border Challenge events, the team finished with four top tens including a 3rd place podium finish at the Lockerbie & Hole Border Challenge at Race City in Calgary in September to claim the cross border bragging rights.

The pair of championships in 2007 is reminiscent of the 2004 season where Bischoff claimed the Western Racing League tour crown and the Race City local Late Model class championship in Calgary.

The team also earned back-to-back Race City Late Model championships in 2000 and 2001.

The Border Challenge is a chase-within-a-series that encourages participation in select events by both the teams and Series business partners and stimulates fan interest.

The 2007 Border Challenge events were the May 26th and September 22nd races at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway in Saskatoon and the July 14th and September 15th events at Race City in Calgary.
