Calgary, AB native Wheeler Boys and Northwest racers and twin sisters Angela and Amber Cope are on the official entry list for the 3-day ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards open test at Daytona International Speedway this weekend, Dec 18-20, in preparation for the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 Saturday that runs February 6, 2010 as part of the renowned Daytona 500 race weekend.

Wheeler Boys, son of NASCAR Cup veteran Trevor Boys who made 102 NASCAR Sprint (Winston) Cup series starts between 1982 and 1993, is listed as a driver for Hylton Motorsports. In 2009, Wheeler made three apperances in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and three starts in the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2008 including the NAPA Auto Parts 200 in Montreal, QC lining up on the starting grid with his father.

The Cope sisters are looking to qualify for the ARCA event at the track where their uncle Derricke Cope won the 1990 Daytona 500. Veterans of the Northwest Late Model circuit, Angela Cope won the 2005 Late Model Challenge Series event at SunValley Speedway in Vernon, BC. Calgary driver and 2007 NEWALTA Late Model Series Champion Barry Bischoff was third ahead of Grant Brown (Red Deer, AB), Rob Angus (Langley, BC) and 6th place Brian Levant (Calgary, AB) in that event. Father Darren Cope operates the respected Cope Bros Machine Shop in Tacoma, WA and supplies many teams in the Northwest with Cope racing engines.

The former ARCA RE/MAX Series, now known as the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards, begins the 2010 season with the Lucas Oil Slick Mist 200 airing live on SPEED TV at 4:00 PM ET and will follow same-day NASCAR Sprint Cup Series  Daytona 500 pole qualifying and precede the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Budweiser Shootout.
