Race Day Report - #29 Shaganappi Chevrolet Print E-mail
CALGARY, AB (June 7, 2006) - It was a frustrating day for the Stephenson Racing Team and the #29 Shaganappi Chevrolet in the NEWALTA Late Model Challenge Series season opening race on the high banked oval at Race City Speedway in Calgary on Saturday.

Image"I went to for a couple of laps and my car leaked oil. We fixed that leak, went out for a couple more laps and sprung a new leak; fixed that, too," explains Chris Stephenson, driver of #29 Shaganappi Chevrolet.

"Qualified and had yet another leak, repaired that."

"In the Heat Race once again leaked oil into the distributor. The car would not run and nearly got run over by Gary Lister in the #55. Could not fix this leak at the track. The night was over for the #29 Shaganappi Chevrolet car."

"And then my teamate hit the wall....hard. It's Wednesday and he is still very sore but in good spirits. There is a message here. Tto everyone who reads this, please race with some kind of neck support. Brian is okay but counts his lucky stars."

"Shopping has begun for a new car!"

The NEWALTA Late Model Challenge Series season continues at Race City Speedway on June 24th.
