Speaker Bios

Tom Curley - “Guest Speaker”

Tom Curley is the creator and President of the ACT- American Canadian Tour - , a Late Model Stock Car Racing Series. Tom Curley owns Thunder Road International Speedbowl in Barre, VT. Managed Oxford Plains Speedway from 1993-1996 and has leased tracks of various sizes in Canada and the U.S.


Tom Curley was three times voted for Northeast Promoter of the Year by RPM membership, a national trade organization. Nominated three times for North American Promoter of the Year by RPM membership. In 2004 Tom Curley was the North American Promoter of the Year and in 1992 he was Trackside Magazines “Reader’s Poll” Promoter of the Year.

Tom Curley continues his success with 2003 Lowe’s Motor Speedway (Charlotte) Short Track Promoter of the Year and in January of 2009 he was inducted into the New England Motorsports Hall of Fame.

Wes Burton


His impressive list of experience includes Mechanical Engineering Degree from UNC Charlotte. Wes Burton, 10 years NASCAR Experience, Fabricator & 24 years of Race Car Driving Experience. His 24 years of driving experience includes everything from Go- Karts, Dirt and Asphalt Modifieds, Legends Cars and Pro Late Models to Dirt Super Late Models and NASCAR Camping World Truck
Series.


His 10 years of NASCAR Experience include 8 years with Hendrick Motorsports, 1 year with Jr. Motorsports and 1 year with MRD Motorsports.

Rick Crawford


Rick Crawford began his racing career as a short-track racer in the southeastern United States and has raced his way up to NASCAR and holds the record for most starts in the Camping World Truck Series.

Rick Crawford began his Truck Series career in 1997 with the Craftsman Truck Series. He qualified for every race and had ten Top-Ten finishes and a Top 5 at Texas Motor Speedway. That year, Rick was runner-up for the Rookie of the Year award in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.


Rick Crawford went on to have raced in 336 races over a 16 year career. His first race was the 1997 Chevy Trucks Challenge in Orland and his first win was in Homestead, 1998 Florida Dodge Dealers 400. Rick’s last win was the 2006 Power Stroke Diesel 200 at the O’Reilly Raceway Park.

Rick Crawford has 5 Career Wins and 160 Top Tens and 6 Poles. Rick went on to being Track Manager and Promoter in Mobile, Alabama and Track Manager in Kalispell, Montana.

Ryan Brown

Ryan Brown has been in the Stock Car Racing Business for 20 years. He has been building race
engines for 20 years and is the Crew Chief for Chris Skelton. Ryan Brown is a Professional Engine
and Carburetor Builder and will be here to answer all your questions!

Ron Just

Ron drives the Auto Clearing Pace Car and is very passionate about racing being a past driver himself. Ron has many years’ experience as a Maintenance Supervisor, Company/Union Facilitator, Gainshare Program Facilitator, Planning Development Officer, Harassment Development Officer and Harassment Investigator. He has been a part of Stock Car Racing for 40 years and will be speaking about Officials and Conduct.

Ron Brown

Ron Brown is an A/C at Meyers Norris Penny. Ron has many years of accounting experience and is excited to be speaking to you about managing your Team Budget for the 2014 season.

Azim Esmail

Azim Esmail is the owner of MP T-Shirts Inc. in Saskatoon. MP T-Shirts is the company that runs the Pro Shop at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway. Azim will be speaking about all your Team Apparel needs and will have samples and catalogues to assist you further! “Perception in Reality”
