The rare appearance of the three touring series of visually similar stock cars on the same program was part of the recent Weekend Extravaganza featuring the Mac's Super Late Model Series B & J Signs 150 at Medicine Hat.
Regardless of age or experience of the driver or size of their equipment, the pursuit of happiness on that day was down the same path. Go Fast. Just Turn Left.

The touring series has 12 dates on its 2009 schedule and travels to all Canadian tracks on the Mac's Super Late Model Series schedule as well as Penticton Speedway in BC and Edmonton International Speedway in Wetaskiwin, AB.
Baby Grand stock cars derive their name from the former NASCAR Grand National stock car series. The cars feature an impressive power to weight ratio as demonstrated by sensational sophomore Cameron Hayley at the recent July 4th Firecracker 150 in Kalispell, MT. The Calgary driver drove the 1500 lbs, 125 HP Yamaha powered two thirds scale late model to a sizzling 14.386 qualifying lap. The current points leader has been on the podium for every race this season and has 8 victories in the 10 events.
The Baby Grand Stock Car Association of Canada has a challenging 14 date / 20 event schedule that opened at the Bull Ring in Las Vegas on May 1st and closes on Oct 17th in California at the Shasta Speedway in Anderson visiting all the paved ovals on the Mac's Series tour.

Mac's Super Late Model Series driver Roy Wigley (Airdrie, AB) is a former Canadian Baby Grand champion, one time Race City Late Model champion Troy Vandenbilche (Golden, BC) currently competes in the Baby Grand series and standout Edmonton, AB driver Michael Kipp is a two time MMRA Western champion and 9 time National Event winner. Popular NASCAR Cup driver Carl Edwards won the MMRA National Championship the year before he jumped to the NASCAR truck series.
Edmonton area race fans can catch the Mini Cups, Baby Grands and the Edmonton International Speedway Super Late Model class in action at this weekend, August 23 at Wetaskiwin, AB. Small, medium or large - the size does not matter.

Shelby Thompson is running second with Mark Owens third, Brian Johnson Jr. fourth and Wrango West fifth. Drivers and their teams are under a red flag condition with the cars covered and no work being done until the green flag flies at 1 p.m. MST on Sunday.
The format for Saturday night’s race has the top eight Canadian drivers in time trials and the top eight drivers from the United States locked into the 24-car field with the remaining eight drivers qualifying in through a consolation race.
Both nights of racing action will be broadcast with live audio and video at no charge on Montana Raceway Park’s website.
