The #80
Vandenbilt Auto Body Chevrolet Monte Carlo driver Vandenbilche, a former Late Model champion at Race City in Calgary and a four time Canadian Baby Grand stock car champ, can clinch his first National Championship for the western Pro Division of the MMRA sanctioned Baby Grand stock car series.
A former Race City Karting champion, Hayley can add the western Junior Pro Division championship to his 2009 Canadian Baby Grand stock car championship title that comes in just his second year of oval racing. Three other Canadian drivers will also be racing in the Grand National event. Lethbridge, AB driver Sarah-Jo Paquette and her #63 Relay Trucking Chevrolet Monte Carlo and Kyle Vriesinga (Vernon, BC) in the #7 Home Building Centre Vernon Dodge Charger will join Hayley teammate and #10 Cabinets by Hayley Chevrolet Monte Carlo driver, Dale Edwards (Cochrane, AB) in California for their last points race of the year.
The 2/3 scale Baby Grand stock cars derive their name from the former NASCAR Grand National stock car series. The Grand National event that features drivers from the western United States and Canada is the last stop on a grueling 14 date race season that opened at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on May 1st and included dates at Polson and Kalispell in Montana and Wetaskiwin and Medicine Hat in Alberta.
NASCAR Nextel Cup driver Carl Edwards was the Baby Grand National champion in 2002 before moving to the NASCAR Truck Series the in 2003.
