In just three short weeks, SPEED and SPEED.com will be live from the high banks of Daytona International Speedway when Preseason Thunder kicks off the 2013 Sprint Cup Series season.

SPEED and SPEED.com offer live coverage of the Jan. 10-12 test session in its entirety with SPEED live from all afternoon sessions and SPEED.com streaming all morning sessions.

Darrell Waltrip, a NASCAR on FOX and SPEED analyst who will cover Daytona testing for SPEED, says he will be watching for parity among the manufacturers with the new Cup Series race car. Waltrip points out that the new car, given its current uncertainties, potentially could tip the scale in favor of one manufacturer over another, at least temporarily.

“With the new rules, there are no guarantees these cars will be equal,” Waltrip said.  “They’ve been tested in the wind tunnel and they’ve been aerodynamically matched up the best they can, but there is no guarantee these cars will all be equal.  When you look at the variances in the bodies this year compared to the past, one manufacturer could wind up with a huge advantage at Daytona, and that’s something NASCAR will be keeping an eye on at the test.”

John Roberts, Jeff Hammond and Matt Clark host SPEED’s on-air coverage from the studio above pit road at the start/finish line at Daytona.  Steve Byrnes calls the on-track action during the morning sessions (9 a.m. to 12 p.m. ET) on SPEED.com alongside analysts Kyle Petty and Kenny Wallace, while Hermie Sadler and Wendy Venturini handle reporting duties.  Rick Allen assumes the play-by-play chair for the afternoon sessions (1-3 p.m. ET and 3-5 p.m. ET) while the NASCAR on FOX and SPEED crew of Waltrip and Larry McReynolds take over the TV booth duties.  Bob Dillner and Matt Yocum report from pit road and the garage.

Parker, AZ (December 27, 2012) - Cameron Hayley of Calgary, Alberta, Canada has just signed to drive with the 2012 Championship Team of Gene Price Motorsports of Parker Ariz., in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West.

GPM drivers Dylan Kwasniewski and Greg Pursley recently finished the 2012 NASCAR K&N Pro Series West championship standings in first and second place, respectively.

“Everyone at Gene Price Motorsports is very excited to have Cameron Hayley join us for the 2013 season,” said car owner Gene Price. “He’s a very talented young driver and I’m personally looking forward to him winning some races and most importantly having fun. We are all excited and eager to start the 2013 season.”

Hayley will team with Pursley, the 2011 series champion.

“I’m really looking forward to working with young Cameron Hayley as my teammate for the 2013 season,” Pursley said. “I appreciate Cameron’s talent and enthusiasm and know he’s going to fit right in at GPM.”

“Going into the new year with Gene Price Motorsports is something that I am really looking forward to,” said Hayley. “Everything I have learned up to this point will help me succeed this year with the Gene Price championship team. We hope to be successful right out of the trailer. I’m very excited to be teamed up with Greg Pursley too; this will be a great year.”

Hayley, who is just 16 years old, will be entering his second full season in NASCAR. His first race in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series West resulted in a second-place finish. Earlier this year, NASCAR named Hayley to its NASCAR Next9 program, nine drivers 21-and-under in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series who represent the next wave of young talent set to make an impact on the national series scene.

At the NASCAR Champions Award’s recently held in Charlotte, N.C., Hayley received the Driver Achievement Award for 2012 and the Featherlite Most Improved Driver Award. He finished second in the Sunoco Rookie of the Year standings and was seventh in the overall standings.

EDMONTON, AB (November 8, 2012) - Seventeen year old Kelly Admiraal of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada driving the #83 Tribute to Canadian Forces of WWII Chevrolet will make his second career start in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway located outside Avondale, AZ. The one-mile paved oval will be the largest track the youngster has competed on but one that he has dreamed about for a long time.

Admiraal Racing at Phoenix for season finaleThe Admiraal team has competed in a variety of racing series in both Canada and the United States this season with both Kelly Admiraal and older brother Ian Admiraal behind the wheel.

Kelly, a high school senior in his hometown of Edmonton, is having the time of his life racing. "It has been a great season and I have learned so much. I cannot wait to turn laps at Phoenix," Admiraal offered.

And while his younger brother has garnered most of the seat time this season, that is perfectly fine with Ian Admiraal. Ian has translated his business school education into real-world experience by managing all aspects of the family owned race team. From equipment purchasing, marketing, public relations, to employee hiring and sponsorship negotiation, the 19-year old has accomplished a lot in a very short time.

The Admiraal team will honor their Canadian heroes from World War II this weekend since the event at Phoenix falls on Remembrance Day in Canada. "We (Kelly and I) thought a tribute car would be a special and unique way for us to honor and recognize those who served and gave their life for our country," Ian Admiraal said.

"Our dad (Menno Admiraal and owner of the team and a very successful business in Edmonton) has always held our fallen heroes in very high regard and we wanted to honor the commitment he has always had," Admiraal continued. "Our family immigrated from Holland to Canada after World War II. The Canadian fighting forces have always had a great impact on our family."

The team shares similar characteristics to their historical heroes in that they are a small team but full of fight and determination. "We still need to gain experience in this series but we are focused at the task at hand and looking forward to a great event at Phoenix," Admiraal said.

The race from Phoenix will be broadcast live on SPEED Channel Saturday, November 10 at 5pm MT and also via NASCAR Home Tracks Radio via the internet at hometracks.nascar.com.
