Rampage, the majority of the cars need to refuel to run a 200 lap race, (even the economical crate cars) as for the extra b mains and a LCQ is for the anticipation of extra cars. If there is less cars than anticipated the lineup would be adjusted to suit the amount of cars that qualify.

The rules are simply designed for the crate cars...cut and dry. Argue if you want, but not many teams have ran both open and crate engines there. (17,55x,24,77). The point is you can run longer on a set of tires with a crate then an open. I know this first hand, tires are my job. There are lots of 200 lap races ran in the northwestern states, most have a break at 100. I wonder why they would all use that format. There seems to always be guys on here saying (i know a guy...or I talk to a team...Or I was 5th cousins of this guy who knows someone with an open motor who won the Kentucky Derby). If you've got info from race teams or drivers and are willing to put half the info out there..put it all out or don't put out at all!! You wanna get info on 200 lap races 3 drivers come to mind that may have the knowledge (17,24,49) all made 200 lap races.

But thats just my opinion

Sorry thats my mistake, I just thought that since cascar used to run a 200 lap race on 1 tank of gas I thought SLM's could too. However you said the majority, that means not all so that would just add an extra level of stragedy. Some guys could pit for fuel and not take tires, some could take tires, some could chance it and stay out and get track position.

How many cars are the SSCRA reasonably anticipating? I know the club likes to over hype these races to build excitment, but come on this isn't going to be another Calgary. We had 22 cars in june, there may be some that are currently racing in Montana, and a few that couldn't make that race. Adding more prize money does not make people forget.

I am still gonna be at this race and can't wait to see the return of the 17.

In that case Devon you should have no problem with those that want 4 tires taking them, based on the fact that they are good to 300 laps and all that.

i have no problems with teams taking 4 tires every 5 laps, it's not my money. but i don't make the rules. but, when they asked, my opinion was 4 tires for 200 laps, because it can safely and competitively be done. anybody that states any differently is just expressing an unknowledgable opinion reflecting personal feelings about what is better for their team.

thank you guys, again, for pointing out this series was designed for a more economical engine package than you choose to run. i'm sure the comitee will appreciate their efforts have not gone unnoticed. i'm also sure the other, built engine, super late model series' in western canada are thriving, and welcomes you with open arms, but here in saskatchewan, were having trouble filling fields with $30000 engines. i personally apologise for any inconvenience this causes, and if you feel the $23000 you spent on an extra 150# of ballast wasn't in your best interest.

i'm not sure how a guy that told this series it wasn't good enough for him, and a guy who has never entered a race in this series, would think the series should consider changing rules to better fit their personal programs? do you honestly think the series is wrong to reward the teams who compete in it?
