Season of Champions
CALGARY, AB (September 25, 2006) - The excitement is building as the 2006 championship will be decided this Sunday, October 1st with the running of the Border Challenge 150 at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway in Saskatoon, SK, the final race of the 2006 NEWALTA Late Model Challenge Series schedule. As the Summer of Speed turns to autumn's Season of Champions, www.JustTurnLeft.ca takes a look at results that some of the diverse teams that make up the NEWALTA Late Model Challenge Series are getting at their home tracks.

Miles Chisholm
#13 Miles Chisholm takes Cranbrook title
Cranbrook International Speedway has released its final standings for the 2006 season after their final event that ran on September 17th. www.JustTurnLeft.ca congratulates Miles Chisholm (Cranbrook, BC) #13 Freightliner  of Cranbrook Chevrolet Monte Carlo for his first place finish in the track championship.

Along with points runner up Craig Cawte #19 Optimistic Enterprises Ltd Chevrolet Monte Carlo, Clint Habart #9 RE Truck Collision Ford Taurus, and Golden, BC driver Dan Foraie in the #97 Rocky Mountain Developments Chevrolet Monte Carlo, eight Cranbrook International Speedway regulars have made appearances in the 2006 edition of NEWALTA Late Model Challenge Series in events at Calgary, Vernon and Kalispell, MT.

At Evergreen Speedway in Monroe, WA on September 16th, the championship for the NorthWest Late Model Challenge Series went to #46 Troy Conrad (Tacoma, WA) and www.JustTurnLeft.ca sends our congratulations to Ryan Fischer (Surrey, BC) #77 TufTruck Chevrolet Monte Carlo for his excellent 14th place finish in the 2006 NWLMCS championship points.

Fischer had a strong 2nd place finish in his only NEWALTA Late Model Challenge Series event of 2006 schedule in Round 5 at SunValley Speedway in Vernon in July.

12 Ratzlaff
Feature win for #12 Wes Ratzlaff at EIR Late Model final
JustTurnLeft.ca was at Edmonton International Speedway in Wetaskiwin, AB to catch the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Series late model final on Saturday night. While the final tally for the championship points have not been released yet, it's two thumbs up for Wes Ratzlaff (Wetaskiwin, AB) #12 Fast Track Signs Dodge Avenger for taking the Main event and son Greg Ratzlaff #2 FIX Auto Collision Dodge Intrepid for his first place finish in the Trophy Dash.

Calgary race fans saw both of these two drivers in Round 7 and Round 8 of the NEWALTA Late Model Challenge Series in Calgary at Race City Speedway.

Championship contender Dean Craig debuts new car at EIR Late Model final
Also on track Saturday was NEWALTA Late Model Challenge Series championship contender, Edmonton driver Dean Craig in the WeatherShield Insulation System Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Craig debuted a new car at the event.

With Late Model racing finished for the year at so many venues, focus is now squarely on the NEWALTA Late Model Challenge Series championship.

Saskatoon race fans, get ready. The thunder is coming.
